Here are some pics from this year's trip to the Winds.  How about the golden Jeff Schuessler caught.  About 22in and 13 in of girth!!!

Here are a few pics from our 2014 trip to The Winds.  What a trip!!  More to Come!

I hiked to St. Mary's Glacier with a couple of friends.  It is a short fifteen or twenty minute hike from the parking lot.  It started off slow but eventually we found what was working.  The previous time I there, I caught some very nice Tiger Trout.  This time I had the camera and only got this one tiny Tiger, but a Tiger none the less.  Brookies were also taking my FBBH Pheasant tails and midge emergers.  Scuds in olive were working as well.  If you like the Dry Dropper method than I would tie on an Adams in size 22 to 24.  It is a fun and productive lake but the fish aren't real huge.  A 3 weight was my choice of rod.  A 9 foot Elkhorn made here in Colorado.  Good Luck and tight lines!!

Yampa

Josh Patterson is helping me at the shop and as you can see still gets his days on the water!  Alot of posts will be coming from him.  Thanks Josh!!

I recently went to the Yampa near Stagecoach Reservoir.  It was my first time traveling to this tailwater.  The fishing was so good that we went back the next day as well.  The fish were strung throughout the entire section of public fishing.  There were some occasional clouds, which helped the bug hatches and also helped hide us from the fish.  During the second day it was bluebird and the fish were more weary and willing to reject my fly.  Some good patterns to use are RS2's, FBBH pheasant tails, zebra midges and various emergers, like a Barr's.  We fished more in the fast water next to the slower water when it was bluebird.  Dry dropper rigs and nymphing both work well depending on the hole you are working.

Saguaro Lake Arizona Bass

Just fished Saguaro Lake Arizona for some largemouth bass action.  Fishing and weather was fantastic.  Videos to follow.

Scofield Reservoir Utah

Dean Knoll and I went to Utah in search of big Tiger Trout.  The weather did not cooperate one bit.  Dean got a few Tigers and I got a really nice Bear Lake Cutthroat.  All in all it was a fantastic trip.  I will go back.
